Oh yes, its lady’s night and the feeling’s right. Oh yes, it’s lady’s night, oh what a night (oh what a night)!
Time to salute the ladies of the blog; those femmes for all seasons – you know – the intelligent end of the gene pool. First and foremost, I have to give a shout-out to my girls – The Gypsy’s Caravan and It’s morning somewhere. I know I haven’t specifically featured them, but we trade quips all the time, so they feel just like family. I would highly recommend you stop there on occasion (if you don’t already). The info’s interesting, the pics are great, and you just can’t beat cute kitties and Saturday dragon blogging!
What a week! Sheeeeesh! Incompetent politicians and hurricane’s – been there, done that – you know; same shit, different bag. So - I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore! Oh, yeah - right – Paddy Chayefsky got there with that first. Well, maybe not there, exactly – but close enough for government work. Boy, that phrase has taken on lots of meaning lately, hasn’t it? Along with the perennial chestnut regarding death and taxes. Ba dum-bum. But enough ‘bout all that. Time to explore the distaff side of the new technology. So – without further ado, let me present our artist’s of the evening.
This lady is one real bitch! And that’s exactly how she styles herself. Bitch Ph.D. is up front, no nonsense, tell it like she see’s it commentary. I mean, what can you say about a banner that features a royally pissed off little girl giving you the finger! Uh-rah! This woman won’t back down, either. If you challenge her assertions, or log on just to get all pissy and pick a fight – she will tackle it and you head-on. No beating about the bush for this blog-lady - straight out front opinionated diaries. The truth as she sees it - no holds barred. I was particularly struck by her Depression Update post. Flat-out honest – but then, she always is. Check her out – this blog is a very good read.
This lady is, as she says, ‘An Angry Girl with a Computer and a Dream.' Yes indeedy! MoxieGrrrl is just that – beltway blogging with a whole lot of heart and soul! This queen bee has one of the best political blogs I’ve seen – feminist not withstanding. She breaks news too – one of her loyal following provided the info that opened up the whole tularemia/freedom march controversy. You get much more than just the facts, ma’am – you get MoxieGrrrl’s patented brand of humor. And what is that, you ask? Blunt. And I do mean blunt – in your face, what the fuck do I care, moxie. I get the distinct impression this little lady would kick King Kong in the balls if he got pushy. So much for the proverbial 900 lb. gorilla! Go visit. You’ll enjoy the trip.
Now – last as per usual (for me, anyway) we come to something and someone unique. Pia Savage has created a blog that serves as a kind of avatar. Courting Destiny defies the term ‘blog’. It has a definite ‘Sex and the City’ vibe – from the 40’s chic peek-a-boo design, to Pia herself – sleek, sexy, intelligent without being elitist. This is a personal blog – confessional in a way. Pia talks about her world, her life, her issues. She has the ability to fascinate with a phrase. I really like this woman. Very much. She and I have traded the occasional email, and I can tell you she is also nice and quite thoughtful (she say’s she doesn’t like to send thank you notes – but she really does, in a way). Treat yourself – read her essay ‘Electric haired chick.’ She hits home with every word.
Parting is such sweet sorrow (really!). ‘Course, I can’t guarantee anything on the morrow – it being Saturday and all – but I can wish you a happy one. And so I do. Adieu.
The Fat Lady Sings

Why thanks for the nod, my dear lady!

Woohoo! Thank you, My dear The Fat Lady Sings, for the mention! I was just wondering what branch of the (Lady) family you were from. Do you think we're cousins?

Now, how did I do that? I am sorry for posting the same thing twice. You're going to fix it so I can't comment at all, aren't you? (I don't blame you)

Thank you so much for the beautiful mention; was that me you were talking about?
After reading about how narcissitic I am, in another blog that I found myself compulsively reading, I barely recognized myself.
Can't tell you how affirming I found this, and how much it meant to me

Hey FLS, thanks for the mention, and the links. You have great taste in blogs,(if I don't say so myself) and I especially love your "completely different" pics over there!

Looks like I'm not the only one to have trouble with typepad... I'll have to be more patient with it!
