Better late than never. My friend, Jet Netwal from Bring it On has asked me to help elect Alan Grayson to the 8th Congressional District in Florida. Some of you may remember Alan from his fight to shine a light on all those 'no bid' contract awards in Iraq. Last year, in the only case of contractor fraud to go to trial, Alan won a $10+ million verdict for the taxpayer, even though Bush’s DOJ refused to prosecute.
In point of fact - Grayson has made uncovering war profiteers the centerpiece of his campaign. There are five more cases pending in federal court against contractors in Iraq, and Alan Grayson is the prosecuting attorney in all five of them. I say bully for him! Somebody has to stand up for rank and file Americans. That money belongs to all of us - and the people stealing it belong in jail.
This weekend Alan was featured over at Down With Tyranny, Crooks and Liars, FiredogLake and Papamoka Straight Talk. He's been interviewed in Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and the Wall Street Journal. Please stop by Alan's Act Blue Page and contribute what you can. We need more Alan's and Kelley's in government. Spread the word.....

He was also featured on Florida Progressive Radio: http://quinnell.us/sspb/wiki/index.php?n=Main.FloridaProgressiveRadio
hosted by yours truly.

We need more progressive candidates - people who put honesty and integrity ahead of how much money they can make off the backs of poorer Americans. I like that Grayson's central issue is fiscal accountability. He plans to use his office as a tool - investigating waste, fraud and abuse. I applaud that.

If you're interested in stories about those who are (at least making a show of) gunning for crooks, there's an article today at REUTERS entitled,
FBI investigates 14 firms in subprime crackdown.

Thank you for the information. I'm interested in anyone who'll bring war profiteers to heel. It’s more than Blackwater and Halliburton. There are literally thousands of nasty, money-grubbing locusts preying on both Iraqi and American war casualties. I want the bastards birthdays taken away.
