Myles Jeffery arrived safe and sound last night at 9:34pm. I cannot tell you how happy I am to hear that. Our Tammie had a rough time of it - but she and her son are doing just fine. 5 pounds 15oz and 36 hours of labor. As soon as I have photos I will put them up. I feel like I can breathe now. I've literally been holding my breath hoping that everything would be fine. It is - and I know that all of your good thoughts helped make that so. So thank you, everyone.
You know - this weekend is the virtual shower for Tammie, Liz from Mom-101 and the ever fabulous Christina of A Mommy Story. I hadn't posted on it yet because, frankly, I was a bit superstitious regarding Tammie. I didn't want to buy trouble, if you know what I mean. But all is well now - and I wanted to say congratulations to all three new Mom's. So Shower me, Baby! Bring on the balloons and cake! Set off fireworks, beat the drum! And Catherine - you are a goddess to arrange all this. Talk about multi-tasking.
Entre into this extravaganza was supposed to be pictures and stories of our own children/childhood. As I don't have the former - I thought I provide you with this:
Yup - that's me! Right before competition. I still have the ribbon. That gelding was a dream to ride. I didn't own him - but he was mine all the same. I traded mucking out stalls for lessons. He was my favorite horse. He always knew when I was coming. I'd hear him nicker and scrape the stall with his hooves. He knew which pocket the carrot was in too. I'd love to own horses. One day, I keep telling myself. Who knows what tomorrow may bring?
So feel free to share your own stories of childhood or childbirth. Drop on by Soul Gardening, or Shower me Baby! to say hi or join in the festivities. Today should be joyfull. We are celebrating life here, my friends!
